Perguntas frequentes
Do you deliver at my home?
We can ship immediately through a courier service if you are home, now. Contact us so we can see how to add courier costs.
We are not ready to ship otherwise because of the unknown shipping costs and needed packaging.
Do you sell bulk?
In the store we sell a lot of bulk product but the online tool does not allow that so we defined quantities you can order eg 50g, 100g, 250g etc. If you would like another quantity, write us.
Is all in stock that I see online?
Unfortunately we do not have a connection to our stock system and even with that it would be hard to keep track. We will verify your order and make sure you get a refund for any product that we would not have available.
What do you specialise in?
We don't want to be a specialist store. We make a strict selection in the - mostly Portuguese - brands we love and hope you'll like them too. It’s also really fun selecting good Portuguese products, there is plenty. Still, our surface is limited so we focus on food and drinks that make you healthy and happy:
ice cream, wine, beer, waters, snacks to go with drinks, chocolate and cakes, cleaning products (our main bulk offer), soaps and shower gels, eco paper, fruits, olive oils, jams, teas, coffees, cheese, milks (including veggie options), bread (on Saturday), spices, towels, pots&pans, ceramics.
I don’t see all brands I’m used to?
We avoid buying non Portuguese brands because we would like to support local businesses (as we are) and reduce the travel for the impact on the environment. We make an exception for Spanish products or when we can only find a non Iberian product with good price/quality ratio.
Non Portuguese products also tend to be overpriced. Even if we like certain, we would for example not buy Whole Earth or Hollinger lemonade, German milk or yoghurt, Vivani chocolat, Barnhouse granola etc as these products can easily be found in Portugal. In these case we prefer non bio products then make them travel around Europe (or worse). We don’t buy South American avocados. That means that we do not have them all year round. We only buy bananas from Madeira, not from Costa Rica. We do not sell Himalayan salt for the same (ecological) reason.
How can you be cheap?
Small stores have the image that they are more expensive. We compare our prices to Continente, Pingo Doce, Auchan etc. to make sure we have a similar or lower price for a similar product. For wine we compare to online retailers. Let us know if you find cheaper and we will investigate
But how? We focus on one brand per category. We don ‘t have 120 different toothpastes as Continente has (who needs that!). We select the one we like and go for it. As a result we have a good price for Couto toothpaste for example.
We regularly post price comparisons to show our difference and are transparant when we cannot align to supermarkets (rarely). We give tips on how to buy the best price eg buying bulk or bigger packaging.
